Anyone can be a teacher. Not every teacher can give a kid the care and attention they need. That distinction is the whole reason Fin's exists.
Our team is trained to work with any child at any level. Every member is CPR/AED certified and background checked to ensure your child's maximum safety in the water.
Hello everyone, my name is Alexander Gehrig and I founded Fin's last summer. I've been passionate about swimming ever since I jumped off the big diving board when I was 5. I later rediscovered the sport as a form of cross-training, which helped me excel and shatter school records in cross-country and track. I'm currently a junior at Auburn studying Finance. Every summer, I get emotional after doing lessons because I realize the 1-on-1 approach makes a difference in kids' lives you don't really expect. In school I experienced a bumpy road with the my-way-or-the-highway approach to learning. Fin's is my way of giving back, to apply an approach I've always thought is best. The highlight of last summer was getting Jason, a 15 year old boy with Down syndrome, to swim independently after a near-drowning incident nearly cost him and his dad their lives. I realized it's not only about making a personal difference, but also eliminating a common fatal statistic for young children.
Hi everybody, my name is Makena Goodno. I communicate logistics and scheduling with parents. I'm currently a sophomore at Auburn studying Accounting. One thing I pride myself on is my organizational skills. I learned them from my mom, who was a teacher for kindergarten age kids. I love kids and want to make sure we match you with the right instructor.

Hi! My name is Madeline, you can call me Maddie. I have been passionate about swimming since my first competition at age 5. I competed for 13 years, up to a semi-national level for club team, as well as at the state finalist level in high school. My main events were the mile and the 200 breaststroke. I graduated from the University of Miami in 2022 with my bachelor of science in public health. Since then I have worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) providing behavioral therapy services to children and young adults with autism. I have extensive instruction and water safety experience, from infant water safety up to USA age group competitive swim coaching, lifeguarding, and just about everything in between. My goal is to help your child become safe and confident in the water while maintaining a fun environment to learn in.
Hi! My name is Katelyn, and I am a second-year at Georgia Tech studying civil engineering. I've been around the water for as long as I can remember. I swam competitively for over 10 years and now play collegiate club water polo. Before college, I coached swim team at the introductory level and have taught all age groups at another swim school. With this background, I'm very familiar with covering stroke technique, whether for recreational or competitive purposes. Out of the pool, I enjoy hiking, baking, crocheting, cafe-hopping, and quality time with loved ones. I look forward to sharing my love for swimming with my students.
Hi! My name is Lauren, and I have been a competitive club swimmer for over 11 years. I will be graduating high school in May 2026 and will attend the University of Georgia in the fall. For the past four years, I have worked as a summer league assistant swim coach, where I've gained experience teaching swimmers of all skill levels. I am also CPR/AED certified, ensuring a safe environment for every lesson. I love sharing my passion for swimming and helping children become stronger, more confident swimmers.
Hi! I'm Lexie from Woodstock, Georgia. I'm a sophomore and an accounting major at UGA. I have loved swimming since I was young, enjoy working with kids, and hope to spread my love of the water to them. Fun fact, I'm scuba certified and take multiple diving trips a year.
Hey y'all! My name is Natalie and I'm a rising junior at GCSU majoring in Education. I absolutely love swimming and teaching children. Growing up, everyone called me a pool rat because I lived at the pool. I swam competitively for many years, along with running cross country and playing lacrosse. I'd love to create that same love of swimming for your child. I've also had many years of experience as a lifeguard and working in childcare as a camp counselor, daycare attendant, and babysitter. I'd describe myself as very positive, encouraging, and patient, and I'd love to create a safe and happy learning environment for your kids.
Hi! My name is Lucia and I'm a rising senior at the University of Georgia majoring in accounting and French. I taught swim lessons at Dynamo Swim Club for 2 years and swam in high school. I babysit and tutor and love working with kids and watching them succeed and feel comfortable when swimming. A fun fact about me is that I can speak almost 4 languages and have lived on 3 continents.
Hi! I'm Cami and I am a rising junior in high school. I have always loved being in the water. I've lived on a lake since I was born and I'm in the water almost every day, so I've developed a love for swimming and safety in the water. I have experience in babysitting and tutoring and I love working with kids. I work to create an encouraging and safe environment where every child leaves with a smile. I cannot wait to help your child find a love for the water while being safe and happy.
Hi! My name is Micah, I am so excited for this opportunity to work with your kids. I am from Roswell, GA. I grew up in a competitive swim environment, which helped me understand the importance of safety in the water. I am a former D1 football player and am now planning on attending the University of Georgia in the fall. I have worked with kids all throughout my life and plan on coaching at some point in the future. I enjoy hanging out with friends, working out, and spending time by the pool. I look forward to teaching my future swimmers!
Hi! My name is Cale, I'm from a small town in East Texas called Mount Pleasant. I am currently a freshman at Auburn University, where I'm studying Agricultural Science on the pre-veterinary track. I have always had a passion for swimming and became a certified lifeguard in 2024. My interest in water safety became deeply personal after my brother nearly drowned a few years ago. That experience inspired me to help others learn how to swim and to create a safe, supportive, and stress-free environment around water. Outside of school, I work as a babysitter and a nurse assistant. Growing up as the seventh of thirteen siblings has given me a deep appreciation for family and a natural connection with kids of all ages.
